Alaska Cruise 2025
by Joel Bermanpublished on
We visited Alaska in 2007 and again in 2023 and now in 2025. I love Alaska, but it is melting. The glaciers are spectacular as is the scenery, but, if you have been to Alaska before you will certainly notice that the glaciers are smaller. Tidal glaciers in Glacier Bay and especially in College Fjord have receded or lost height in a very noticeable way.
We took a ride on the White Pass and Yukon railway and learned a lot of the history of the Klondike Gold Fever. There is a strong tie in between our current President and his ancestors. Johannes Drumpf had a very successful restaurant and hotel in the area. And the building of the narrow gauge railway in only two years with only 35 deaths is a remarkable feat and fascinating story, both of which are covered well on the internet so I will spare you my commentary and just present some of the best images I captured.
Our Itinerary started in Vancouver, then Ketchikan, then Juneau, then Skagway with the aforementioned railway trip, then Glacier Bay, College Fjord, Whittier and then back with the Hubbard Glacier, and the same ports, ending, 14 days later back in Vancouver.
Here are some raw images which I will label and sort later.
